NEUGEN (MINOS) MC events available

Hi all --

GMACRO-generated file in FZEX zebra exchange format are available with
interactions generated by the NEUGEN (MINOS) neutrino generator.
There are 16 files, each containing 10,000 events, for a total of
100,000 numu/numubar events and 60,000 nue/nuebar events. They can be
found on cithe504.cithep.caltech.edu (use the macro account with the
usual password; cithe504 runs ssh so you can use scp to avoid
transmitting an unencrypted password). The files are

My generation volume is slightly bigger than MACRO, so about 2% of
these events interact in the rock around MACRO. In that enlarged
volume, the calculated event rates are

numu/numubar: 1259.611328 ev/yr
neu/nuebar: 650.1838989 ev/yr

so if you use all 100,000 mu events and 51,618 e events, you are
simulating 79.39 years.

If you want to decode and use the Monte Carlo truth information in the
SIMU banks, contact me -- I use a different format than others.
